Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary with Return Scenic Cruise

Really good experience! The staff on board was friendly and helpful. It was a great guiding on the River Cruise, but I think you can speed up the boat Cruise a bit, especially on the ride back to Brisbane. It was good that we could go on our own in the park during the day.

Thoroughly enjoyable boat river cruise and commentary, Koala Sanctuary was everything we expected however during the tomes we were at the sanctuary we could not get photos in the allotted times which was a little disappointing. Could also do with better signposting for directions.

I had a friend from the Philippines visit Australia for the first time last September. So, what better way to give him the Australian experience than to take him to Lone Pine Koala. We both enjoyed our time there, especially when he got his very first Koala hug. Worth every cent! Would love to take my international friends here again!

It will be great if the shelter could be extended to the back of the cruise as the sun was really hot. Other than that, we had a great experience and the time allocated (3 hours) at lone pine was sufficient. Great experience and I would recommend it to my friends!

Everything was perfect and as stated on the website! We had an amazing day and it was so nice meeting animals originated from Australia like Koalas and kangaroos and many more! The cruise in the river was really relaxing and they even had blankets if cold!

We took the Mirimar Cruise to Lone Pine. The cruise was clean and depart on time. It is very good for children to able to get so close to Kola and able to hug and touch it. My boy was able to feed tha kangaroo and touch the sheep it is a very good experience for a city boy. He is very happy.

Trip was exceptional. The boat tour was amazing the staff were very friendly, and the tour of the sanctuary was also amazing. Up close once in a lifetime experience with the animals such as Koalas, Kangaroos, Viper etc. Would highly recommend this package.

We loved our experience with Miramar Cruise! It is a very good way to learn more about the famous Brisbane River and the buildings that surround it. The cruise boat is cosy and I am surprised that there is a cafe inside it! So we had our breakfast on the boat, the price is also affordable. We also love the Lone Pine Zoo! It feels so natural and the animals look happy and calm. We got to see loads of Koalas and feed the Kangaroos too. Although we only had 3 hours to stay in the Zoo (because the next trip back to the city is at 2 pm), it was enough for us to enjoy the sights and animals in the Zoo. Would definitely recommend anyone that’s holidaying in Brisbane to have a go at this experience with family and friends.

Nice relaxing cruise up the river. Good informative narrative. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary great experience. Lots of koalas to see and opportunity to hold a koala and have your photograph taken (for a price. Funds go to help with sanctuary costs). Lots of kangaroos to hand feed.

My first time visiting Brisbane, I only had a day and a half to explore as much of the beautiful city as I could. I read the reviews on Experience Oz + NZ, and the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and River Cruise received high reviews, so I decided to book this experience. It was incredible! The staff were fantastic, the narrated journey really was entertaining, and the views along the river were incredible. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary was a magical experience seeing all of the native Australian animals and nice food. Of course, my ultimate highlight was taking a photo with a koala (which, is an extra fee, and you can only hold koalas in Queensland), and feeding the kangaroos! I highly recommend visiting this place to all who visit Brisbane. I definitely would visit Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary again!

We had such a wonderful day out yesterday. The staff on the boat were lovely and incredibly helpful. They organised colouring in for my children and also allowed them to have turn driving the boat. Their food was fresh and very well priced. The Lone Pine Sanctuary was great too. Such a relaxing place. The free flight raptor show was mesmerizing. I found for Sanctuary the perfect size to walk around with without the children getting too tired. We saw loads of different animals and the kids loved it. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting or living in Brisbane and the surrounding areas. It's a lovely day out with friends or family and fantastic value for money!

I took my overseas cousin on this cruise to show him Brisbane from the river and, of course, the koalas. We had a great time from the moment of boarding. The staff were most helpful and the commentary most informative. I am a local and still learned a lot about my city. After walking all over Lone Pine, it was most relaxing to return home on the boat.

Enjoyed the day even though it was raining. The staff were friendly and helpful. Worth the money spent to see the animals.

I would recommend the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary Cruise to any one who loves a scenic boat trip down the river, enjoying the commentating of the history of the Brisbane River. The Koala Sanctuary is a Great Family Day out. Lots of Animals to see. We all had a really great day and would definitely go again!

Myself and my 2 kids (3 & 6) had a fantastic time at lone pines koala sanctuary. The kids really loved the close up interaction with the Kangaroos and koalas. The place is a good size for little legs to walk / run around. We took the boat from and back to Brisbane which was great fun too and gives plenty of time to see round the sanctuary. Totally recommend.

My brother was visiting from the UK so we decided to go for the real Aussie experience and cuddle a Koala and feed the kangaroos. Blessed with a beautiful Brisbane day we cruised the river to a very informative tour guide and Aussie music streaming through the ferry was very pleasant. Loved every bit of our trip and highly recommend it for all ages, though lots of steps and walking to be considered. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We caught the boat from Southbank had a lovely cruise with very informative with beautiful weather very friendly staff on the boat and the coffee was good too! Then we wondered through the sanctuary,it was great, we fed the kangaroo's and had our photo taken with a koala learned about all the other animals there, then a lovely ride back We throughly recommend it!

My partner and I had an extremely good time on the cruise (even considering she hates boats and water, lol) and the visit to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary was a very good experience even though we are locals so thank you :) The staff on the boat were friendly and all and all had a really good time!

Excellent experience both boat travel and koala park. We saw two excellent demonstrations one of sheep dog handling and another of raptor birds which were very professionally done and well aimed at the many school children attending. I would have welcomed another half an hour at least at the park. We are at the back outside the boat and though the up stream historic commentary sounded pretty good to me when i could hear it, it was difficult to hear on the outside of the boat. That would not stop me from recommending the trip to anyone which i thought was good value. The animals at the centre looked in very good condition to my eye. The staff of the boat were very good humoured and helpful.

Great day trip. The travel by the river in the Mirimar was excellent and funny. The sanctuary was beautiful, clean, all the animals well cared. Kids loved the place. We highly recommend this trip!

Great day, enjoyed the leisurely and informative river cruise, with the great crew, and then had the amazing experience of holding a Koala and feeding Kangaroos and Wallabies, as well as seeing many more of Australia's animals. Really worth doing!

Great way to see some of the sights along the Brisbane River. Very informative and relaxing river cruise. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is not too big and you can easily see all the animal exhibits and attractions the park has to offer in the 3 hours before the river cruise returns back to Brisbane CBD. Great place for young kids with the large kangaroo feeding area and koalas everywhere through out the park. Plenty of spots to sit down and relax as well. Was just my wife and I and we had a very nice time.

The sanctuary itself is amazing. The river cruise is not bad too, but it takes one hour each way, and that only gives us about 3 hours at the sanctuary. I think next time I will make my own way to the sanctuary instead of taking the cruise.

Defo worthwhile. The whole trip let us visit the zone for 2.5h, which was sufficient. The sanctuary itself wasn't very big and it took 2 hours or so to get around. Koalas are cute and all iconic animals are there: wombats Tasmania devil kangaroo reptile lots of parrots plytpus snakes. You can even touch/ feed the kangaroos and many other animals The best part is the raptor show and sheep dog show (all free) that I visited. You can also choose the snake show or koala show and they are all very educational. If you are an animal person, I suggest you use the bus to get there and that may give you more time in the sanctuary.

I went there with my life & our 2 daughters of age 6 & 2. All of us enjoyed in the park a lot. The best part was to cuddle coala & photo with koala. Miramar cruise was also good. Nice & clean boat with good quality snacks on board. The commentary in boat was also very informative.

We were in Brisbane for the long weekend and decided to do the cruise as the weather was perfect. The booking was easy and quick and off we went. The boat was on time and we had a really lovely cruise to Lone Pine. The info all the way along the river was very interesting and light hearted at times. The prices of a snack on the boat were very good and a good range. Lone Pine was really great and loved the koalas and when it was time to leave we were informed of what was happening and found it very relaxing. Highly recommend this trip.

we took our 3 young kids, ages 5, 7 and 9. they thought the river cruise was too long (an hour each way) but my husband and I really enjoyed the cruise and the commentary was excellent. our boys got to drive the boat and sit with the captains hat on which was great. the koala sanctuary was great. the highlight being able to see platypus. a great family day out!

We found the cruise informative and relaxing. The crew have lots of info about the places we passed and we saw beautiful homes and countryside. At the sanctuary we heard how koalas are bred and saw them up close. The exhibits were clean and in all cases we were close to the creatures. Bats, snakes, birds, dingos, Tasmaian Devils and Roos were all close and easy to see. We got brief glimpses of the platypus as he swam. It was a great way to see creatures we had never seen before.

Had an informative relaxing cruise to the Lone Pine Sanctuary with 2 kids and Senior relatives. Friendly cruise and sanctuary staff. Pretty much as good as expectations. Unbelievably tame marsupials and emus!

Everything was perfect, this was the first time I went to Brisbane and we really enjoyed this experience. The Crew of the Miramar 2 were all very friendly and helpful, also It was nice having a little bit of history and information about Brisbane and the river. The journey to the sanctuary is a bit long, but is enough to have an overview of the different suburbs alongside the river. The Sanctuary itself is really nice and is better than a Zoo because all the animals are well treated and not locked inside cages. I highly recommend this experience for couples, families and kids that love nature and animals.

Cruise jetty is easy to get to. Crew of the Miramar 2 are all very friendly and helpful. Boat is clean and comfortable. We sat on the top deck, with very good views of the incredible houses along the river. A little cool being winter, it was good in the sun, ad the boat provided blankets if wanted. The boat has a large range of food and drinks for purchase. Time at the Sanctuary is only 2 1/2 hours but quite adequate to see all the animals, have lunch and attend 3 of the shows, with koala photo. Overall a very enjoyable day.

The River cruise was pretty cool it gave a lot of history and information about the Brisbane River also on the cruise they have a snack bar so if you get a little hungry or thirsty they have you covered and the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary was amazing from holding a Koala to feeding and petting Kangaroos.

What a wonderful day out! It is 30 years since I last visited Lone Pine and as a friend was visiting from overseas I thought that it would be a great opportunity to plan a visit and combining it with the river cruise seemed a good option. What a good decision it turned out to be, the Mirimar cruise was fabulous , the boat is very comfortable , good food and drinks options are available, the crew are informative about the river and the history of Brisbane. Arriving at Lone Pine from the water was such a lovely experience , the entry price is included in the price of the cruise so we were ushered straight in with no waiting in line. Lone Pine its self did not disappoint, as well as the koalas there are many of our unique mammals , not least of all platypus , a first for me. The sanctuary is well laid out and well signposted making it very easy for any visitor to plan their time there.The staff were informative , appeared very committed to their charges and were polite and patient with providing information about the sanctuary and it's inhabitants. The return trip on the river was a very relaxing end to a very special day. I have recommended this experience to family and friends and will be re-booking to enjoy with future visitors.

This experience was amazing. The river cruise leaves from Brisbane city at 10am and gets to the lone pine sanctuary by 11:15 AM. There is food and drink available on board for purchase in case you missed breakfast. There are plenty of seats to get a good view of the river and the surrounding city of Brisbane and suburbs. During the cruise the captain will point out interesting things. There is also a 45-50 min commentary the discussed the history of Brisbane and the sights that you are along the way. We found the commentary to be educational and funny. Once you get to lone pine you have 2 and a half hours to explore. You pay a fee of 20 dollars to cuddle a koala and get your picture taken. You can also pay 2 dollars To get kangaroo food and go feed the Kangaroos and wallabees. This was awesome because you are literally standing next to a kangaroo and feeding him or her. The sanctuary also had shows about the various animals every half hour. We went to a few of the shows including birds of prey and sheep herding. They were excellent. We had plenty of time to get photos taken and explore the sanctuary. At 1:45 we got back on the cruise boat and returned to Brisbane by 3pm.

As a single female and only one day stopover in Brisbane this cruise/tour was great. Start and finish times reliable enough that I made train connection to airport with plenty of time so I didn't get anxious about making my connecting flights. The staff at the sanctuary were very knowledgeable and made the information educational and fun. The river cruise was very pleasant and relaxing with the commentary interesting. Be aware that if you sit downstairs you will not hear it, they should look into fixing the sound system. All in all a pleasant relaxing day!

Time is just long enough. Lone Pine is somewhat underwhelming. Commentary on boat very informative though.

Fantastic trip, great commenters, even supplied blankets as parts of the cruise was quite cold. Wonderful day, good information on lone pine etc, would highly recommend this!

On 16/04/2015 I and four overseas friends went on the river cruise and visited the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. They and I were very impressed with the whole outing. We found the river part of the cruise very informative as the 'captain' kept-up an informative dialogue throughout the trip. I have lived in the greater Brisbane area for more than twenty years and it was still an education for me. The overseas visitor were, of course, very interested in the Australian animals at Lone Pine and insisted on having their photographs taken while nursing the koalas. All in all, a very pleasant day, and before I forget, booking through Experience Oz was simple and pleasant.

The cruise up the Brisbane river to Lone Pine Sanctuary was super -- Free WiFi available all the way onboard. The commentary was excellent and the food and beverage service first class. The Lone Pine experience was unbelievable and our visitor from Canada was just thrilled to hold a Koala and see Platypuses in the water behind glass. The services at Lone Pine are excellent and the food very good. All in all a very good experience and very good value for the money. Five star for sure.

Very easy to book. Ferry Crew are very kind, and ferry is comfortable. The sanctuary is fantastic. Photo with koala is too expansive (20$) and bad quality. To have best quality for the photo, we have to pay again online !! 5 stars for your site.
